We Are Unique: April 23, 2019 Email

“She’s different.”

“She’s weird.”

“She dances to her own music.”

I’m pretty sure I’ve heard all of these things at some point in my life. I’m sure if you know me you’ve thought them, lol.

It used to bother me.

I mean, when you’re a teenager or a young woman the very last thing you want is to stand out or be anything but “normal”.

That has changed in the last year. See, I’ve learned something. It’s not bad to be different, to stand out, especially for the Christian Woman. I would even venture to say that we are supposed to stand out as something unique in the world.

In Matthew 5:14-16, Christ tells us:

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (NJKV)

So, when you feel like you are “standing out”, maybe, just maybe, God is putting you on a lampstand to give light to those around you living in darkness.

The lampstand isn’t a crowded place. It’s not a party and it is not always comfortable. The lampstand is a place of honor and the place you were made to stand.

Let the God who made you use you for His purpose.

Be His kind of different.

Be His kind of weird.

Dance to His music.

I could talk for hours (as some of you know) about how God made us each unique, but I think this is the message for today.

I am so thankful for you all!

God Bless you, Ronda
